Our Mission
Carrico Pediatric Therapy utilizes a holistic and multidisciplinary approach to therapy. Our team of passionate and caring therapists are carefully selected and highly trained to ensure that they provide the upmost care in accordance with current research-based strategies for every child who becomes a part of our Carrico Pediatric Therapy family.
We collaborate with the important figures in the child’s life to promote generalization of skills acquired in therapy into their daily life. We take a child-centered approach, ensuring an individualized plan of care regardless of the diagnosis. We work with the child’s areas of strengths and interests to facilitate peak performance, and encourage higher levels of independence by improving their areas of deficit. We strive to provide the child and their family with tools they need to succeed.

``TEACHING CHILDREN THE TOOLS THEY NEED TO SUCCEED.”
What is Occupational Therapy?
A pediatric occupational therapist provides intervention to develop, recover, or maintain the skills required to help children participate in meaningful activities, otherwise known as occupations. Occupations for a child can range from eating and self-care tasks, to writing and making crafts in school. For a child, play is often the most meaningful occupation. The therapist provides child-centered and research-based treatment techniques to ensure the opportunity to engage in activities that are fun and meaningful to promote optimal learning.
What is Physical Therapy?
Pediatric physical therapists specialize in developing a child’s physical ability to reach their maximum potential. They help children meet their developmental milestones and navigate their environment safely. Physical therapists evaluate a child’s strength, range of motion, muscle tone, balance, reflexes, motor planning and gross motor skills (i.e., sitting, rolling, walking, running, etc.). Then they develop a plan to help the child move safely and independently.
What is Speech Therapy?
Pediatric speech & language pathologists evaluate, promote, and treat communication challenges, both receptive and expressive. They work on delays in the following areas:
- Oral motor
- Auditory processing
- Sensory processing
- Producing speech sounds correctly
- Omitting/Distorting sounds
- Sounds with no patterns
- Trouble putting sentences together
- Stutters
- Articulation
- Social Pragmatics
- Feeding Delays
- Self-Care Delays
- Hypersensitivities
- Expressive & Receptive Language Delays
- Stuttering/Articulation Issues
- Oral Motor Delays
Carrico is one of the best clinics in the San Gabriel Valley! My daughter received PT from Melanie (wonderful therapist) and OT from the other Melanie (wonderful therapist). We have had a great experience at Carrico. Both our Mels (therapists) listen to our concerns for our daughter and they focus on her goals. Within months my daughter has shown so much improvement and has actually graduated from PT. Both Mels put in so much hard work with each of the kiddos they work with. They also have great communication and parent relationships. I am a busy mom and would need to reschedule sessions and Carrico has always been able to accommodate our schedule! Excellent services from Carrico! Ps. Lan the owner is spectacular!
This facility is AMAZING!! We have been working with Megan for about a year for my sons sensory issues and she has completely changed our life! Megan is not only a great occupational therapist for my son, but she always takes the time to answer any questions I have and always gives us great suggestions for what we can be doing at home as well. If you are looking for a facility that is going to take the time to connect with you and do everything they possibly can to make significant improvements in your child, this is the place for you! These women are truly heaven sent, my family and I are extremely grateful for them!
Having a child with special needs has given our family the opportunity to come across a lot of specialists who work with our daughter’s developmental delays. Although most of the ones we have come across have been ‘good’, Lan, the owner of Carrico Pediatric Therapy, has been a godsend for our daughter. Lan is passionate about her work and takes the time to stay up to date on new therapies. She’s great with kids and incredibly patient. Highly recommend this OT if your child is in need of one!
Maria is the head Physical Therapist at Carrico Therapy and is the best. She is able to assess quickly as well as develop a treatment plan for your child. My child has been going there for months. When he first started going he could barely sit up on his own, now he is walking independently and refining skills for him to access the playground equipment safety before he is dismissed. Maria is flexible, understanding, helpful, kind, professional, and most of all caring. I tried other PTs (for insurance reasons) and always left those appointments feels extremely grateful for Maria. She is amazing and really knows what she is doing and will help your child. I really appreciate that she uses the entire time of the session to focus on the goals and making it fun and entertaining my LO. He doesn’t even know he is working and getting strong.
The OTs at Carrico are amazing!!! Very professional and attentive with my child. I love how helpful they are when I have a question (?s) relating to sensory based issues, etc. Since starting at Carrico I have seen amazing growth from my daughter and she LOVES OT time. Highly recommended!!!!!
